Last Played:Tay Iwar (Austin Iornongu Iwar Jr.), born June 9, 1997 in Lagos, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, producer, sound engineer, and composer known for blending R&B, alté, neo-soul and Afro-fusion. He co-founded the Bantu Collective with his brothers Suté and Terna Iwar.
He first released the mixtape Passport as a teenager, and followed with EPs like Renascentia. His debut album Gemini came out in 2019, featuring collaborators like Cruel Santino, Preyé, and Odunsi. In 2021 he dropped the Love & Isolation EP, a project that explored themes of love, loneliness, introspection, and emotional growth.
Tay Iwar is recognized for his rich vocals, poetic songwriting, and production depth. He has contributed behind the scenes as writer/producer for major artists, and his sound is often seen as a bridge between alternative and mainstream Nigerian music
