Skales (Raoul John Njeng-Njeng) is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter born on April 1, 1991, in Kaduna. His stage name stands for Seek Knowledge Acquire Large Entrepreneurial Skills.
He first gained fame around 2008 after winning the North-Central region of the Zain Tru Search competition. He signed with E.M.E in 2009, released hits like “Mukulu” and “Keresimesi”, then in 2014 he established his own label, OHK Music. His debut studio album Man of the Year came out in 2015.
Skales is known for blending hip hop, R&B, and Afropop, delivering both club bangers and smoother love songs. He remains respected in Nigeria’s music scene for his versatility, lyrical style, and his rise from humble beginnings to mainstream success.
