    Johnny Drille (John Ighodaro) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer born on July 5, 1990 in Edo State. He studied English and Literature at the University of Benin and began his music journey singing in his father’s church.

    He first came into wider view in 2013 as a contestant on Project Fame West Africa, but his breakout moment was in 2015 with his cover of Di’Ja’s “Awww,” which caught the attention of Don Jazzy. His debut single “Wait for Me” followed, earning him recognition in the alternative music space.

    Johnny Drille is known for his emotive style blending folk, soul, alternative rock and African influences. In 2021 he released his debut album Before We Fall Asleep with Mavin Records. He’s also known for maintaining a strong fanbase, hosting his live concert series “Johnny’s Room Live,” and collaborating with artists across genres.
