Cheque (real name Akanbi Bamidele Brett) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper born on March 23, 1995, in Ondo State, Nigeria. He is best known for his melodic rap style that fuses trap, Afrobeats, and R&B influences.
He gained mainstream attention after signing with Penthauze Music, the label owned by rapper Phyno, and releasing his hit single “Zoom” in 2020. The song became a massive success and solidified his position as one of Nigeria’s most unique new-generation artists.
